North Dakota AI laws: what's in force, and what's coming

North Dakota has no comprehensive AI statute; in its 2025 session it enacted targeted laws requiring AI disclaimers on political content, covering computer-generated sexual images, limiting AI's role in health-insurance prior authorization and extending stalking law to robots. The legislature meets only in odd years, so no new AI laws were made in 2026; state agencies follow an NDIT AI policy first issued in 2023.
