West Virginia AI laws: what's in force, and what's coming
West Virginia's enacted AI laws are a state Task Force on Artificial Intelligence (2024, amended 2025) and a 2025 ban on AI-generated child sexual abuse material. Bills on election deepfakes, nonconsensual intimate deepfakes, AI video labels and AI in mental health care were introduced in 2024-2026 but did not pass.
