| Synthetic media in elections | In force | Requires disclosures on political communications that use synthetic media or AI-generated content and sets penalties for violations. |
| Digital Voyeurism Prevention Act and content provenance | Enacted, effective later | Bars AI generation services and platforms from distributing counterfeit intimate images without verified consent, requires notice-and-takedown, provenance data on large platforms and disclosures in AI-generated content. |
| Identity Protection Modifications | In force | Applies defamation law to AI-created content with a notice-and-removal step, and expands abuse of personal identity to cover unauthorized distribution and identity-replication tools. |

In a legal AI workflow
Utah's Artificial Intelligence Policy Act (2024, narrowed in 2025) makes businesses answerable under consumer protection law for their generative AI, requires AI disclosure on request or in high-risk interactions, and runs an Office of AI Policy with a regulatory learning lab; the Act is set to repeal July 1, 2027. Separate laws cover mental health chatbots, election deepfakes, AI-made intimate images and content provenance (from January 1, 2027), and AI-driven defamation and identity abuse.

Optional evidence · where Planisphere fits
Keep a record anyone can check
When your team meets a duty, Planisphere can seal the event it reports as a receipt.
A disclosure shown, a review signed, a model change approved: the event your system reports.
The event becomes a sealed receipt, dated and attributed to whoever is signed in.
Paste the receipt into Verify. No account or key.
A record supports your compliance evidence process. It is not a legal finding or a certification. Systems that call Planisphere's gate API can also hold or refuse an action before it runs.
