Michigan AI laws: what's in force, and what's coming
Michigan has no comprehensive AI statute; its AI-specific laws require disclosure of AI in political ads, ban undisclosed deceptive election deepfakes within 90 days of an election, and create criminal and civil liability for sexual deepfakes. Bills on state-agency AI governance and other AI topics were introduced in 2026 but none had been enacted as of October 2026.
