South Carolina AI laws: what's in force, and what's coming
South Carolina's AI-specific laws are criminal statutes enacted in 2025 covering computer-generated child sexual abuse material, morphed images of identifiable minors and machine-learning 'digitally forged' intimate images, plus a 2024 real-estate law making licensees responsible for AI-assisted work product. Chatbot bills for minors (S 896, H 5476/S 1037) did not pass before the 2025-26 session ended in 2026.
