Nebraska has no comprehensive AI statute, but it bars AI algorithms from being the sole basis for health insurance prior-authorization denials (from Jan 1, 2026), covers AI-generated child sexual abuse material (2025), and has a Conversational AI Safety Act for chatbots that becomes operative July 1, 2027. The chatbot act, signed April 14, 2026, requires AI disclosure, protections for minors and self-harm crisis protocols, enforced only by the Attorney General.
