Missouri in defense AI workflows: what compliance requires, who asks for evidence, and the records to keep.
01 / State law
Missouri's AI laws
| Law | Status | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Sexual offenses act (intimate digital depictions, AI-generated CSAM) | In force | Creates the felony of disclosing or threatening to disclose an intimate digital depiction to harass or threaten, and defines child sexual abuse material to include computer-generated images. |
| Intimate digital depictions and minors' social media | Failed | Would have penalized sharing deepfakes of children and nonconsensual intimate deepfakes, barred AI posing as a therapist and restricted minors' social media; passed House 145-3, stalled in Senate. |
| AI in mental health | Failed | Would have created provisions on AI in mental health services; reported do pass in the House, not enacted. |
02 / In this sector
In a defense AI workflow
Missouri has no comprehensive or sector AI statute; its main AI-related law is a 2026 sexual-offenses act (effective Aug 28, 2026) that creates a felony for disclosing intimate digital depictions and covers computer-generated child sexual abuse material. Several 2026 bills on AI deepfakes, companion chatbots, AI in mental health and AI content labeling passed the House or committees but did not pass the Senate before the session ended.

Optional evidence · where Planisphere fits
Keep a record anyone can check
When your team meets a duty, Planisphere can seal the event it reports as a receipt.
A disclosure shown, a review signed, a model change approved: the event your system reports.
The event becomes a sealed receipt, dated and attributed to whoever is signed in.
Paste the receipt into Verify. No account or key.
A record supports your compliance evidence process. It is not a legal finding or a certification. Systems that call Planisphere's gate API can also hold or refuse an action before it runs.
